During his visit to Karachi on Tuesday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. They had a thorough conversation about Pakistan-Iran economic potential, especially matters pertaining to investment.

Raisi came in Pakistan a day ago and is currently on a three-day tour. This is the first visit of this kind by a head of state since the general elections on February 8.

Raisi was greeted by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and provincial ministers upon his arrival at the former terminal of Jinnah International Airport.

Later, he traveled to Mazar-i-Quaid, where he was accompanied by provincial officials and his delegation. There, he laid a floral wreath and said prayers.

Raisi went to the Chief Minister's residence in Sindh after that.

Governor Tessori presented the Iranian president with an honorary degree during a ceremony.

According to a statement made by CM Shah's spokesperson, Abdul Rasheed Channa, the province chief and the president of Iran met to talk about bilateral economic potential and investment concerns.

The gathering was also attended by provincial ministers. According to CM Shah, there are "vast investment opportunities" in a variety of sectors throughout the province, and the Sindh government has always supported private entrepreneurship.

The Iranian president, who spoke at the event and "expressed his delight" at being hosted in Sindh, was later honored with a ceremony.
